
Motor Replacement Procedure Salvation 1 , 3 and 9 Helicopter
Tools needed:
-Small headed screw driver
-Soldering Iron
Replacing Motor:
Step 1) Remove blades, axial (Refer to procedure when changing blades) and nose cone, making sure you do not lose small screws.
Step 2) Remove all screws above and below the body and then remove both nose cone and skids (this makes it easier to remove motor)
Step
3) Remove the motors and circuit board from the
casing with care. Diagram 1
Step 4) You will notice two fine coloured wires (black and red) which attach both
motors to the circuit board. Diagram 2
Step
5) Using the soldering iron remove both wires from
the damaged motor
Step 6) Again, using soldering iron,
replace old motor with new motor (
The small orange ‘ball' is known as a motor noise suppression capacitor, which
is soldered across both contacts of the motor, the motor has a +ve mark (the red wire should be fixed to this side)
- Once securely fitted ensure motor is working correctly before refitting case.
Nose cone pointing left;
Right motor runs the top drive (lower blade)
Left motor runs the lower drive (top blade)
